13th WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, BAD GRIESBACH, GERMANY – July 2000

Our first tournament in Europe saw us playing at the Hartl Golf Resort, Bad Griesbach in Southern Germany close to the Austrian Boarder. Three wonderful golf courses were used for the tournament the Brunnwies, Uttlau and Sagmuhle Golf Courses. All courses were located near to the Headquarters Hotel, which was the Golfhotel Maximilian. The tournament was played on Monday 3rd July, Tuesday 4th July, Thursday 6th July and Friday 7th July 2000.

The Welcome Cocktail Party was held on Monday evening 3 July in the Golfhotel Maximilian, where the World President Martin Poertner proudly welcomed all to the tournament and wished everyone great luck and even greater fellowship during the week.

here were 187 male entrants and 16 lady entrants. They came from 14 Countries including Australia (20), Canada (10), England (13), Finland (1), Germany (47),Ireland (13), Japan (29), Liechtenstein (1), New Zealand (9), Sweden (8), Switzerland (1), Taiwan (17), U.S.A. (24), and Wales (1).

The Presentation Banquet was a formal dinner at the Golfhotel Maximilian on Friday evening 7 July.

The World Champion was Felix Bertucci, U.S.A.

The Senior Champion was, Peter Read, Australia.

The Lady Champion was Claudia Popp, Germany.

The Doug Crosby World Cup was won by U.S.A.
