Profile of NALG-Japan

Since being established in 1994, NALG-Japan has seen surprising growth with 900 members across the nation.

There are 15 branches and each of them holds a tournament at least three times a year, which means regional tournaments are being held somewhere in Japan every month.

We run the NALG-Japan according to these four principles.
Through our NALG activities, we aim to

1. improve our skill, manners and spirit of fair play
2. do something good for society
3. exchange friendship with foreign friends
4. enjoy life together with everyone

WALG
It was in 1988 when the first Japanese person took part in a WALG tournament, the one held in Australia. Now, we reached the stage where there are 45 applicants for the 2002 Championship to be held in Spain.

Our dream came true in 1997.
We held the WALG Championship in Japan.
More than two hundred lefties from all over the world enjoyed a successful tournament at a venue near the biggest lake in Japan though we were saddened by the news that Tom James from the United States had passed away on the first day of the event.
We miss him so much.

Schedule of NALG Tournament
On October 7, 2002, we will hold 9th NALG tournament in Sakata, Yamagata Prefecture. If you would like to take part in the event, please let us know.

A NALG tournament commemorating 10th anniversary of our foundation is planned for 2004. We expect to have a lot of lefties from everywhere in the world.
Details will be provided soon.
