26th World Championship, Willingen, Germany- May 2019

From 20 to 24 May, 200 left-handers from 15 countries competed in the 26th World Championship, Willingen, Germany. The games were played on the golf courses Haxterpark-Links, Paderborner Land, Schmallenberg and Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe. Although 4 days had been scheduled for the tournament, due to massive rainfall the 2nd day had to be canceled because the courses were unplayable. However, this had not distracted the enthusiastic players from their goal, and an additional day off was used to renew or sustain international friendships. This Tournament has been in the pipeline for a number of years and only through the persistence of our past chairman has it come to fruition. 22nd WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, BELEK, TURKEY – September 2013

The 22nd World championship was held in Belek, Turkey the four courses used were Cornelia Golf Club, Carya Golf Club, Tat Golf Club and Nobilis Golf Club. The tournament was played over four rounds. Monday 9, Tuesday 10, Thursday 12 and Friday 13 September 2013. The hosts for the tournament was Anette Ternstedt and Jan Johansson both Swedish Nationals who have a home in Belek. The 21st World championship was held on four superb links courses in and around the City of Dundee, Scotland. The courses played were, Montrose Medal, established 1562 (yes 1562), Monifieth Medal established 1643, Panmure established 1845 and Scotscraig 1817. The 20th tournament once again saw us visit Florida, U.S.A. where we played at Walt Disney World. The Golf Courses used were the ‘Magnolia’ and the ‘Palm’ courses. Both these course are used on the regular US PGA tour. The Headquarters Hotel was the Dolphin Resort at Walt Disney World, which is about 30 minute drive out of Orlando. The 19th World Championship saw us travel to Sweden for our long awaited opportunity to play golf in the Baltic Region of the world. The tournament was played on the west coast of Sweden, about 2 hours north of Goteberg. 18th WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, QUEENSTOWN, NEW ZEALAND – March 2008

The World Left-Handed Championship returned to New Zealand for the second time, having played previously at the Harewood Golf Club, Christchurch in 1993. The 72 hole tournament was played at four different courses in the Queenstown region, Millbrook Golf Club, Queenstown Golf Club, Arrowtown Golf Club and Jacks Point Golf Club.
