Chairman of W.A.L.G. Richard Davidson
Secretary of W.A.L.G. Nigel Messenger
President of W.A.L.G. Dominique Lacan
Dear left-handed friend(s),
On behalf of NALG France, I would like to tell you how much we are pleased to welcome you to France for this 27th edition of the WALG Championship.
Thank you to all the official representatives of the WALG for choosing France to host this international event, I hope that many golfers will take this opportunity to discover PARIS from the 17th to the 21st of August 2020, and that each of the 25 delegations will be well represented.
We have chosen PARIS to welcome you, both for its tourist appeal and for the quality and diversity of the golf courses.
PARIS, city of light, known worldwide, welcomes you and offers you to discover all the beauties of our capital. On the golf side, you will have the pleasure of discovering world-famous golf courses, including the Albatros course, which hosted the last edition of the RYDER Cup in Europe in 2018.
I would like to thank the management of the various Golfs who allow us to access their facilities andmeasure ourselves in all modesty to these courses that have already welcomed professionals of our favorite sport.
The organization of this competition is a heavy work and I want to thank the members of our association who have invested strongly for the good performance of the competition. Thank you to PROMOGOLF who supported us in this organization and who will be with us throughout this week to manage the competition and all participants from around the world.
Thank you to our sponsors for their support without whom nothing would have been possible.
Finally, thank you to the hotel Méridien who will receive us all, in the heart of Paris, 10 minutes walk from the Arc de Triomphe. This geographical location will allow you to discover Paris easily, in addition to excursions and activities that we will offer.
I wish you all a great week, full of fun, good game, fair play, and great moments of conviviality as we have known in previous editions.
I hope that this edition PARIS 2020 is a success, that our welcome is up to your expectations and that the golf games on offer will delight you.
Good luck to everyone

DINER SUR LA SEINE – BATEAU MOUCHE – TUESDAY AUGUST 18TH
The sun sets and the night falls on Paris, the Jean-Sebastien Mouche, flagship of the fleet, has just cast off the moorings and the dock is slowly moving away. You have just embarked for an exceptional dinner cruise … The violin and the piano mix their chords and the city of light is revealed little by little while you slip gently on the Seine. The moment is romantic, the magic operates … You are the actors of this magnificent play that is only played for you. The refinement of the menu echoes this exceptional setting and illustrates a culinary art guided by excellence. A dinner cruise that will remain a privileged moment of your stay in Paris. An elegant and romantic way to discover or rediscover Paris from the Seine.
SOIREE BUSTRONOME & CRAZY HORSE – WEDNESDAY AUGUST 19TH
Aboard the BUSTRONOME, you discover the most beautiful views of Paris while enjoying the best of gastronomy. The BUSTRONOME is a ‘high-end’ double-decker bus that stands out thanks to its fully glazed roof. It plunges its passengers into the Parisian world in the best possible conditions, whatever the season.
We have some right-handers with their partners, who want to join the Partner golf. Do they use the same registration (only the button “will not attend the championship”) or for what is this button?
For right-handed players, in accordance with the rules decided by the WALG, we will only allow 1 right-handed player per 1 left-handed player registered. Each right-handed player must register on a Left-handed player’s form.
A right-handed person cannot register for the competition alone, there is no individual registration form for them, s/he must be registered on a left-handed person’s form. Normally, right-handed players will play the same courses as left-handed players in competition, however priority to left-handed players: if we have 372 left-handed registered players they will have priority on the 4 chosen courses, the organisation will then propose different courses for PARTNERS, with transport.
If some want to be caddy for only 1 or 2 days (as we had in Germany) is the price also 80 € or less?
Yes it is. It’s difficult for us to give choice each day for the bus.
Are the excursions also to be paid in advance?
It is preferable to register in advance for the excursions as well and pay for them at the same time as the registration for the competition.
Here too, we have a limited number of places. I think there will be an opportunity to register on site, if there are still places available. We will have the partners who will be present at the hotel to present the excursions .
We privatize the sites to make sure that we can accommodate as many people as possible, so we need to be able to book in advance. For example, the meal on the Bateau-Mouches evening will follow the WALG meeting, I encourage all delegates to register if possible. We are in contact with other partners, we will probably propose other excursions in addition for Wednesday, they will be available either on site as soon as we can, or on site at the Hotel on Saturday and Sunday before the competition.
On Golf St. Cloud Carts are forbidden. How do you manage this with all the Super Seniors and Seniors who need one? Are they not playing this course?
This is a difficult issue on which we have debated at length. The culture of golf in France is to play without a cart, in the same way as it was done in Scotland a few years ago. The golf course of St CLOUD does not accept any golf carts on the course, not even for the members of the club. (very private club) We decided that the Senior Supers would play this St CLOUD course on the 1st day to limit the accumulation of fatigue. We will try to have any electric trolley or caddy to bring their bag if necessary Super Seniors. I would like to remind you that manual trolleys are included in the registration.
If you have any further questions please contact the Association Francaise Des Golfeurs Gauchers.
